Google recently unveiled training resources focused on generative AI through its Cloud Skills Boost platform. The company offers two distinct learning paths catering to different audiences and skill levels.

Overview of Learning Paths:

1. Introduction to Generative AI: This is an entry-level learning path aimed at non-technical roles such as sales, marketing, HR, and operations. It provides learners with foundational knowledge on responsible AI principles and the potential impacts of generative AI on businesses. The curriculum includes courses like ‘Introduction to Large Language Models’ and ‘Introduction to Responsible AI.’ This path, available for free, requires roughly two hours to complete. Upon completion, participants earn a digital skill badge, showcasing their understanding of generative AI as implemented in Google Cloud.

2. Generative AI for Developers: Tailored for software developers, machine learning engineers, and data scientists, this path offers hands-on labs and technical courses. Participants are expected to have prior knowledge from the "Introduction to Responsible AI" and "Generative AI Fundamentals" courses. The advanced path comes at a cost, requiring Google Cloud credits for some of the technical labs. These labs include services such as Generative AI Studio and Vertex AI.

Both learning paths present a blend of theoretical and applied learning, encompassing video lessons, practical labs, and opportunities to earn skill badges. Google commits to regularly updating these materials, ensuring they remain current with industry advancements.

The advanced course also provides a list of labs, each with their respective Google Cloud credit requirements. Some examples include "Generative AI with Vertex AI: Getting Started" and "Integrate Search in Applications Using Gen AI App Builder."

Additionally, in collaboration with DeepLearning.AI, helmed by AI specialist Andrew Ng, Google Cloud introduced a complimentary course named “Understanding and Applying Text Embeddings with Vertex AI.” This course covers topics like classification, outlier detection, text clustering, and semantic search.
