Workflow

Turn awkward work rules into a timed plan

Why now: The Trenton vote puts construction restrictions in focus; this exercise applies explicit limits to a small planning task.

Prompted by today's lead: About 80% back Trenton data-center ban in unofficial returns

What you'll need

  • Non-sensitive notes listing tasks, durations, dependencies and permitted working hours.

Steps

  1. Gather the task notes and copy all relevant timing restrictions.
  2. Paste them into the prompt to generate a constrained agenda.
  3. Check each time slot against the original notes before using it.

The prompt

Plan the work using only these notes: [paste your task durations, dependencies and timing restrictions]. Return plain text with no Markdown formatting, under 130 words. Schedule one task at a time without inventing durations or permissions. Put each scheduled task on its own line with its start time, end time and the restriction or dependency it satisfies. Finish with a line beginning Deferred: that lists anything that cannot fit or lacks necessary information, or says none. Respect every stated restriction.

What you should get

One line per scheduled task gives start and end times and the applicable constraint. Tasks do not overlap, hammering starts after 10, cleanup finishes by noon, and a final Deferred line accounts for unscheduled work.

Tested example: Tested on sample input

Input

We can work in the shared courtyard from 9 to noon. Move the empty planters first; that takes 20 minutes. Sweeping takes 30 minutes after the planters are moved. Repairing the loose bench takes 45 minutes and involves hammering, which is allowed only after 10. Watering takes 15 minutes after sweeping. One person is doing all the work. Everything must be put away by noon; allow 10 minutes for cleanup.

Output

9:00–9:20: Move empty planters first, within the 9:00–noon work window.
9:20–9:50: Sweep after the planters are moved.
9:50–10:05: Water after sweeping.
10:05–10:50: Repair the loose bench; hammering starts after 10:00.
10:50–11:00: Clean up and put everything away, allowing 10 minutes and finishing before noon.
Deferred: none.

How we tested it: How we checked this: an AI model ran this prompt on the sample input on November 4, 2026, and a separate model call checked the result against what the Move promises.
